ADDITIONAL CONTESTS
This year we are introducing two additional opportunities - separate from the lechon competition for our community to join the fun and compete.
To complete your registration for either the Abuela's Flan Bake-off and/or the SBE Student Cupcake Bake-off, please select the register button above. Once the Eventbrite page opens, click "Get Tickets" and "Abuelas Flan Bake-off" or "Student Cupcake Bake-off."
ABUELA'S FLAN BAKE-OFF
Flan Contest Rules
• Contest eligibility is open to anyone attending the SBE Cook-Off + Bazaar.
• Contestants may submit one (1) flan entry for judging.
• All submissions must be home-baked (no store-bought flans permitted).
• All flans must be fully baked and complete at the time of submission.
• Each flan must be submitted in a disposable container.
• Each entry must be clearly labeled with the flavor of the flan.
Contest Day Details
• Check-in: 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM outside the Judges’ Tent
• Contestants must be present during check-in to answer any questions.
• Each contestant will be assigned a number for judging.
• The winner will be announced during the event.
Judging Criteria Entries will be scored by our SBE Abuelas on a scale of 1–5 (5 being the highest) in the following categories:
• Taste
• Appearance
Terms & Conditions
• Any photos or videos taken or authorized by SBE may be used for promotional purposes.
• By participating, contestants agree to indemnify and hold harmless the SBE Cook-Off + Bazaar Committee, SBE, SBMM, and St. Brendan Parish, including all employees, agents, and volunteers, from any claims arising from acts or omissions of contestants or their representatives.
• Participation in the contest constitutes agreement to abide by all rules and regulations outlined in the application.
SBE STUDENT CUPCAKE BAKE-OFF
Cupcake Contest Rules
• Contestants must be a current student at St. Brendan Elementary.
• Contestants may only have one entry for judging.
• Submissions must be home baked (not store bought).
• All cupcakes must be fully baked and complete.
• Contestants must submit 6 cupcakes in a disposable container.
• Each entry should be marked with the flavor of your cupcakes.
